Laila was designed by Torvald Olsen in 1935 and represents Norwegian historicism. Laila is inspired by the Rococo style. The C-shaped arches with their features from rose painting and wood carving were typical of the Neo-Cocco era in Norway. The style is complex, rich in detail, elaborately embroidered and the cutlery places high demands on the craftsmen.
The Laila cake fork is 3-pronged and the outermost prong is wider than the other prongs, so that the cake fork is well suited to dividing the piece of cake.
