Natural Diamonds

Quality created by time and knowledge

Natural diamonds

Natural diamonds are formed deep within the earth, under extreme pressure and heat, over millions—sometimes billions—of years. They are the result of slow, natural processes that make each diamond completely unique.

When choosing a natural diamond, you are choosing a material shaped by time and nature. Small variations in structure, color, and clarity are part of the diamond's character—and precisely what makes no two natural diamonds exactly alike.

What are the characteristics of a natural diamond?

The quality of natural diamonds is assessed based on four fundamental characteristics, often referred to as the Four Cs. These provide a common language for describing how a diamond looks and feels.

1. Cutting (Cut)

The cut is crucial for how a natural diamond reflects light. A good cut provides life, depth, and brilliance, highlighting the diamond's natural beauty.
Even a smaller diamond can appear very expressive if the cut is balanced and precise.

2. Color

Most natural diamonds have a faint natural color, often in warm tones. The color scale ranges from completely colorless to more visible color, but the differences are often subtle.
When the diamond is set in a piece of jewelry, it is the overall impression that determines how the color is perceived.

3. Clarity

Clarity describes small natural characteristics in the diamond, called inclusions. These occur during the diamond's formation and are traces of its natural origin.
In most cases, they are invisible to the naked eye and do not affect the diamond's appearance when worn.

4. Carat

Carat indicates the diamond's weight and affects its size. A larger natural diamond is not necessarily more beautiful than a smaller one - the balance between carat, cut and proportions is crucial.

Quality and integrity

Natural diamonds in jewelry

Natural diamonds have been used in jewelry for centuries, precisely because they combine strength with lasting beauty. They withstand daily wear and are made to accompany the wearer throughout life.

At Arven, we work with natural diamonds, focusing on quality, craftsmanship, and integrity - ensuring that each piece of jewelry achieves an expression that lasts, both aesthetically and emotionally.

Choosing Your Diamond

A choice based on preference and significance

The choice of a natural diamond is often about more than just its appearance. For many, the value lies in its origin, its unique character, and the feeling of a material shaped by nature itself. There is no universal "right" diamond – but there is a right choice for everyone.

How Arven selects diamonds

At Arven, the selection of diamonds is based on longevity, trust, and responsibility. We have had a close collaboration with our diamond supplier for over 60 years – a collaboration built on knowledge, transparency, and shared requirements for quality and ethical standards.

All our diamonds are carefully selected with regard to quality, origin, and responsible conditions. For diamonds over 0.30 carats, an internationally recognized GIA diamond certificate is provided, documenting the diamond's characteristics. For diamonds under 0.30 carats, Arven issues its own diamond certificate, based on our professional assessment of quality.

At Arven, you can always be sure that the diamonds are chosen with respect for the craftsmanship, the material, and the people behind it. Quality, origin, and ethical conditions are a natural part of every single piece of jewelry we create.
