Insurance Valuation
An insurance valuation documents the jewelry's value in case of loss, theft, or damage. The valuation is used by the insurance company to calculate the replacement value and should be updated periodically, as the value of precious metals and gemstones can change over time.
Sales Valuation
A sales valuation provides an assessment of the jewelry's expected market value in a private sale on the secondary market. The valuation is based on the jewelry's condition, materials, craftsmanship, age, and demand, and provides a realistic estimate of what the jewelry can be expected to fetch in a sale between private parties. This can be useful if you are considering selling a piece of jewelry and want a professional basis for pricing.
Probate Valuation (Inheritance Settlement)
In cases of estates and inheritance settlements, a probate valuation may be necessary to determine the value of jewelry and other valuables. The valuation provides an objective basis for the assessment and can contribute to a clear and fair process.
Loss Valuation

How long does an appraisal take?
The processing time for a valuation varies depending on the type of valuation, the number of pieces of jewelry, and our capacity. At Arven, you should expect up to 6 weeks of processing time from the time the jewelry is submitted until the valuation is completed. If you need a valuation within a specific deadline, we recommend that you contact us in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
