With us you can create your own, unique piece of jewelry – from scratch or by giving new life to a piece of jewelry you already have. We offer a free and non-binding consultation with one of our experienced jewelers, who will be happy to help you with ideas, design and material selection. Bring along old jewelry or valuable items that you don’t use – maybe they can be transformed into something new and personal? Or let your imagination run wild and design a brand new piece of jewelry that our jewelers will handcraft for you in our workshop in Bergen. During the meeting, you can, if you wish, place an order or request a quote – with no obligation to purchase.

Inspiration: Feel free to bring inspiration, pictures, or jewelry you like the style of – this gives the goldsmith a good starting point for the design.
Budget: Please consider your budget before the meeting. Custom designs typically start from approximately NOK 5,000.
Occasion or thought: Does the piece of jewelry have a special meaning or occasion? Feel free to tell us about it – it can be a nice part of the design process.
Timeline: Let us know if the jewelry needs to be ready by a specific date, such as a wedding or a gift.

This is the process
Before the meeting, you can think through how you envision the jewelry – desired style, budget, metal and any stones. Feel free to bring inspiration photos or sketches, so the jeweler will have a clear picture of your vision.
During the meeting, you can share your ideas, show inspiration and explore the possibilities. The goldsmith will provide advice and recommendations, so that we can find the best way to make your dream piece of jewelry a reality.
After the meeting, the jeweler will create a sketch and a price quote based on your wishes. You will receive design and price suggestions so that you can consider it at your leisure. Once you have approved the drawing, we will start on the ring itself. We will keep you updated along the way and let you know when the ring is ready – either for collection in Bergen or safe delivery to your home.

Frequently asked questions
Yes! The consultation with the jeweler is completely free and without obligation. If you choose to proceed after the meeting, a fee of NOK 350 will be charged to prepare a detailed price quote – this will of course be deducted if you choose to realize the design.
The price offer is valid for 14 days from the date you receive it from Arven. If you wish to proceed after this period, we can, of course, update the offer for you
The time it takes to create a custom piece of jewelry varies depending on the complexity of the design and our workshop capacity. Once the design is complete and the quote has been approved, the jeweler will give you an estimate of how long production will take.
We do not offer remelting of jewelry, but our jewelers can modernize heirlooms or give new life to existing jewelry – for example, by inserting a new stone or updating the design to your liking.
Yes, in some cases we can use existing jewellery as inspiration or explore possibilities for redesign. This will be assessed during your appointment with the goldsmith. This appointment does not cover repairs or re-melting.
The goldsmith will draw up a sketch and create a 3D model of your design, so you can visualize how it will look.
The price of a custom-designed piece of jewelry varies and depends on factors such as material choice, design complexity, and any gemstones used.
We always take your wishes and budget into account and provide you with a price estimate before we start the work.
No, we do not offer remelting of items. We offer to buy gold and silver at metal value, with the option of a gift card if you wish to use the value for products or services with us. Read more here.
No, you don't need to book an appointment for this. You can deliver gold and silver to us during our opening hours, or register a sales notification and send it to us. Read more here.
No, this appointment is not for repairs. If you have something that needs to be repaired or assessed, you can visit our store during opening hours, and we will help you further.
