Måne was designed by Jacob Tostrup Prytz in 1935 and represents 1930s modernism. Prytz has been described as "one of the leading figures in the Norwegian arts and crafts and design community in the interwar period". His goldsmithing was of a high international standard. The design lies in the shape of the cutlery itself, which gives Måne the simple, stylish elegance that is characteristic of modernism.

The Måne steak knife has serrations along the blade, which makes the steak knife well suited for various types of meat.
