Quarterpenny necklace with silver border
Quarter penny with rim
A piece of historical jewelry with roots dating back to medieval Bergen. The quarter penny with rim is inspired by the original quarter penny discovered during an archaeological excavation beneath Bryggen in Bergen.
The original quarter penny dates back to the reign of King Haakon V on the Norwegian throne (1299–1319). The coin was used as currency for smaller amounts and carries with it a small piece of Bergen's long and exciting history.
The pendant is crafted in 925 sterling silver and features a decorative rim that frames the historical coin. The jewelry comes with a 925 sterling silver chain, in a beautiful box along with a card telling the story behind the quarter penny.
